Located immediately north of Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Brampton has positioned itself as a global economic contender.

The City of Brampton is looking for Security Guards for various location. In each location, strict but diplomatic enforcement of security is required. You will, in the course of your duties, encounter numerous situations which cannot be covered by Standing Orders, site specific security operations procedures which outlines the duties and contain property and facility information. For this reason, it is imperative that you have a proven ability to use your own initiative and judgement and can represent the City of Brampton in a firm but courteous manner.

The role of the Security Control Centre (SCC) is to monitor numerous systems including fire and life safety, access control and CCTV. The SCC assists in tracking and deployment of security staff and handle a variety of dispatch duties including incident call taking.

In this key role, you will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Security Control Centre.

**Responsibilities**
- Supervise and manage Security Control Centre staff
- Oversee the tracking and deployment of security personnel across all corporate sites in Brampton
- Motivate staff to perform, to work as a team and to problem solve
- Act as a liaison between dispatch and field operations
- Provide direction to communicators
- Coach and train staff
- Provide feedback and discuss disciplinary actions
- Monitor numerous systems including fire and life safety
- Extensive use of two-way radios and dispatching software
- Troubleshoot technical issues including both software and hardware
- Monitor access control and parking
- Assign reports to security personnel when required using reporting software
- Investigate routine incidents
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Strong dispatching skills and knowledge of dispatch theory
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with leading staff or a team
- Knowledge of security, law enforcement or emergency services principles
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work under pressure and in high stress situations
- Ability to escalate issues through appropriate channels
- Must be able to work varying shifts including days, afternoons, evenings and nights and statutory holidays
- Community college certification in 911 and/or Emergency Services communications considered an asset but not required.

- A Valid Ontario Security Licence
- A WSIB Approved First Aid/CPR Level C
- Minimum 2 (two) yeaars of security or related experience
- Minimum of 3 (three) years of dispatch experience
- Minimum 4 (four) years of supervisory experience
- A Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License + Clean Abstract \
