**ELECTRONIC RESOURCE TEACHER**: INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT AND WORKSITE TO BE DETERMINED BY THE PRINCIPAL

The School District

Nechako Lakes is situated on the traditional unceded territories of fourteen First Nations encompassing the Dakelh, Nedut’en and Wet’suweten peoples. The school district encompasses five municipalities, the Districts of Fort St James and Vanderhoof and the Villages of Fraser Lake, Burns Lake and Granisle. This large area served by our school district has a population of just under 40,000 residents in the beautiful north central BC.

We serve 3,000 students in our standard schools and approximately 900 FTE at EBUS Academy, one of the largest online schools in British Columbia. Our region has affordable housing, welcoming communities and a lower cost of living than many other regions. **Qualifications**:
Bachelor of Education (Middle or Secondary).

A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in The Ministry of Education and Childcare.

Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student.

completion or partial completion of a professional certification or university degree program in Special Education.

Completion of the BC CASE Inclusive Education course.

Training in functional behaviour assessment and behavioural intervention strategies.

Training or experience in the Response to Intervention model of supporting students who require assistance with their learning.

Experience in developing and implementing IEP’s.

Experience in IEP / IBI case management and working with intensive behaviour students.

Online Education Focus

Supporting every child in learning at high levels.

Work closely with parents/guardians and caregivers and the broader community.

The Board of Education Strategic Plan.

Supporting equity, diversity and inclusion.

Ongoing professional learning for the purpose of strengthening student learning.

Making evidence-based, collaborative decisions about student learning in a professional learning community environment.

Supporting Individual Education Plans (IEP) in a collaborative team environment.

Integrating Indigenous culture and Ways of Knowing into curriculum and learning activities.

Experience in online curriculum development and delivery in accordance with the standards for K-12 online learning in B.C.

Expertise in the use of educational technologies for teaching and learning, especially course management software and both synchronous and asynchronous online delivery software.

Able to utilize technology to deliver components of online programs designed for online delivery via learning management systems (Moodle and Brightspace).

Able to cope with ragged entry and exit for students by providing flexible learning opportunities in the online courses delivered.

A high degree of technological literacy demonstrating an interest in technology integration.

The district believes that teacher interest in providing extracurricular activities

contributes significantly to our students’ positive school experience.

School District 91 has received approval from the Human Rights Tribunal allowing preferential hiring to persons of Indigenous ancestry. The District may give preference in hiring persons of Indigenous ancestry who possess the necessary qualifications to increase the number of Indigenous staff to be more representative of the learners we serve.
