**Summary**

We are looking for a Director, Financial Performance & Analysis to provide services to one of our portfolio companies. You will be supporting the Chief Financial Officer and the accounting team to deliver improved financial reporting and improved performance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. In addition, you will design and implement a succession plan and a capacity development plan within the accounting and finance function of the business.

We are looking for a strategic player, with a holistic forward-looking view of the business, and an expert in financial reporting and subsequent financial result elaboration.

Your role will include:

- Financial Reporting and Analysis_
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Analyzing financial data and providing insights to aid decision making.
- Supporting quarter end and year end close process.
- Analyzing actual performance on an ongoing basis, including comparison to forecasts and variance explanation.
- Producing operational and financial reports that reflect relevant financials and key performance indicators for the business
- Integrating operational and accounting actuals into the corporate financial model
- Explaining financial results via a logically coherent narrative that intuitively explains the business's performance and future trajectory
- Budgeting and Forecasting_
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and project budgets
- Develop and implement financial plans, budget, and forecasts to support the company’s strategic goals.
- Participate in company’s strategic planning.
- Collaborating with the business’s management to produce complete, accurate, and comprehensive financial forecasts based on substantiated assumptions of key business drivers
- Providing a range of forecast outcomes based on reasonable best-case/base-case/worst-case scenarios
- Accurately forecasting the cash balances and flows to assess financial covenant adherence and quantify shortfall risks
- Collaborating with management to create forecasts for new strategic initiatives that include an analysis of risk vs return/cost vs benefit to assist in the decision-making process
- Succession Planning and Capability Development_
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Prepare an actionable succession plan for the executives and senior management of the accounting and finance department to accommodate potential turnover.
- Outline staffing requirements for the accounting and finance department to ensure service quality and continuity
- Formulate the capability development plan for the accounting and finance departments to promote staff skill and responsibility acquisition, with achievable future career milestones and goals

**Required Skills or Experience**
- A bachelor’s degree in business/finance/accounting or a related field
- Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) required
- Other financial designation is a plus
- 7-10 years of progressive financial management experience (controllership, FP&A, budgeting, capital allocation)
- 5 years of senior level accounting.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and auditing.
- Strategic planning and implementation, and process improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

**Compensation**
- $100 - $120 per hour

**Position Type**
- _Type:_ Temporary, Full-Time, In Person
- _Time Commitment:_ 40 hours per week, with significant overtime required
- _Work Location: _Langley, BC
- _Start Date: _Immediate

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $209,600.00-$251,520.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
