**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title: Shipper-Receiver**

**Reviewed By: Warehouse Operations Manager**

**Reports To: QC Charge-Hand**

**Approved By: General Manager**

**Position Overview**:
The Shipper-Receiver is responsible for all functions and paperwork related to all incoming material to Ideal Gear & Machine Works. It will be their responsibility to ensure that goods received are matching to the purchase order produced by the Purchasing Agent.

The Shipper-Receiver is also responsible for the packaging and crating/palletizing of manufactured goods to be delivered to customers and/or sub-contractors. The Shipper communicates shipment information (such as weight and dimensions) to the Logistics Coordinator, as well as works with the Purchasing Agent to ensure all required packaging and crates are readily available.

**Other responsibilities include deburring.**

**Essential Job Functions**:
**RECEIVING**
- Manages the placement of inventory in the warehouse and yard
- Records and reviews quality and quantity of goods received for conformity to Ideal Gear & Machine works purchase order
- Provides all received documentation including waybills and certificates to the Purchasing Agent
- Physically verifies the material received against the paperwork and Purchase Order and reports any discrepancies to the Purchaser
- Files the accompanying shipment paperwork in an organized manner
- Moves the received material into the appropriate location
- Loads/unloads shipments
- Maintains and organizes the receiving area
- Works closely with the Logistics Coordinator to assure on-time shipments
- Schedules daily pickups with various freight providers
- Performs general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment
- Examines shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of shipment
- Packs, seals, and labels materials to prepare for shipping

**SHIPPING**
- Adheres to shipping policies/procedures, and regulatory compliance procedures
- Maintains compliance with laws, regulations, and/or standards and complete appropriate documentation as require
- Prepares documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials
- Works with shift supervisors to evaluate and adjust available picking, audit and shipping capacity in order to maintain proper balance and workflow
- Creates shipping documentation including shipping labels, packing slips, export paperwork and bills of lading
- Communicates accurate weights and dimensions of finished goods being shipped to the Traffic Coordinator
- Performs other duties required to ensure the success of projects, individuals and the company

**NOTES**:
1. Current wage: $31.21 per hour + $4.30 pension per hour = $35.51 per hour overall.

2. Vacation is 4% of earnings for the first year, 2 weeks vacation for the second year and 3 weeks vacation after completing 3 years of service. There is a 3 month probation period when you first start.

3. Benefits: Basical medical after 1 month and then extended benefits kick in after 3 months.

4. Overtime is double time: $ 62.42 per hour + $8.60 pension.

5. Shift time is flexible: 6:00-2:15 is available if some prefer this.

We are open to offering the opportunity to work overtime to bank time for extra holidays

We are also open to offering unpaid time off if that is needed as well.

As mentioned, the position would be shipper/receiver with a big need for deburring currently

*There is potential to advance and the company is growing quite quickly. We have expanded into the building next door and have a new heavy duty container moving machine coming in the fall.

**Salary**: From $35.51 per hour
