We are seeking an enthusiastic person to assist in supporting our Childcare Centre program staff at our new location in Aylmer, which will be opening in July 2024 The Program Support person will assist with coverage in programs as well as supporting light housekeeping duties (e.g. laundry, cleaning common areas throughout the day, etc.) in the Centre.
**Position**:Program Support
**Reports To**:Centre Administrator
**Position Summary**:The Program Support will demonstrate competence and dedication to the care and education of young children by supporting the classroom at the beginning of the day, and when educators are on prep time. The Program Support will also perform operational job tasks during the day. All aspects of the Program Support position will be performed while working within the framework of the vision, mission and value statements and the policies and procedures of Milestones Children’s Centre, the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, the Child Care Centre Licensing Manual and How _Does_ Learning Happen?.
- Demonstrate an understanding of MCC Policies and Procedures and the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.
- Work as part of a team and share responsibilities with others to implement program plans which are developmentally appropriate and inclusive of all children.
- Implement a variety of positive and consistent approaches towards behaviour guidance which are consistent with the policies, practices and philosophy of MCC.
- Operational duties such as: laundry, light cleaning duties
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the position through attendance, punctuality and enthusiasm for work.
**Qualifications**:
- minimum of 18 years of age
- successful completion of Secondary School
- experience working with children
- Criminal Record Check - Vulnerable Sector (within the last 6 months)
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C
- up-to-date immunizations, specifically tetanus (within the last 10 years) and MMR
**Hours**:Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day (plus an hour unpaid lunch break)
**Start Date**:June 2024 (training & orientation to start at our St. Thomas location, with transferring to the Aylmer location once the new Centre is ready to open on July 2, 2024. Some program room set up prior to July 2nd will be required).
**Wage**:minimum starting rate is $19.58/hour plus $2.08/hour of wage enhancement. Starting rate is determined based on education and experience. _Note: meetings, Professional Learning time, and orientation are not eligible for wage enhancement._
