**PURPOSE OF POSITION**

All members of the Finance team are expected to cross train in order to provide support in other areas of the Finance section in the event of absences.

Shall, in the performance of duties, respect and protect human dignity and maintain and uphold the human rights of all persons.

**SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Management of the Service’s scheduling system (inTime)
- Process and reconcile payroll transactions accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with HR and other departments/units to resolve payroll or scheduling related issues
- Calculate and process special pay adjustments, overtime, and other relevant payroll elements
- Prepare payroll reports for management and conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll/scheduling matters in a professional and timely manner

**Knowledge**
- Post-secondary degree in Business or 3-year diploma in Business Administration
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in payroll processing, preferably in a law enforcement or government setting
- Strong understanding of payroll principles

- A problem solver who thinks outside of the box with innovative solutions
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational and time-management skill Aptitude to learn new software and systems

- Ability to learn, understand and establish a good working knowledge of the organizational structure, routine orders, policy and procedures

- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of comprehension and to handle the public with courtesy and authority
- Must be capable of handling multi-tasks, produce work under strict and definitive deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
