**Position Title**:Camp Instructor***
**Reports to**:VV Site Director & Coordinator, Camps & Day Programs
**Status**:Summer Contract

**Summary**:
We are currently seeking dedicated, enthusiastic individuals to provide our program participants with an
inclusive, sports centered, Day Camp program throughout the summer months.

**Major responsibilities, include, but are not limited to;**
- Creating and fostering a fun, exciting, and safe atmosphere for camp participants;
- Leading a group through an activity in a way that is organized, fun, and keeps kids moving;
- Implementing lesson plans set out by Head Instructor;
- Confidently participating in any aspect of an emergency situation (i.e. providing first aid);
- Consistently providing excellent customer service for families and caregivers;
- Performing all duties in a safe manner at all times;
- Being familiar with facility and program schedule to answer any questions or concerns with
- parents/guardians.- Adhering to all Variety Village policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, AODA, and
- Plan to Protect.- Participating in Variety Village training sessions;
- Performing other duties as assigned.

**Key Competencies and Qualifications**:

- Valid certification in CPR-C, First Aid, AED required;- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Responsible and dependable;
- Excellent verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated leadership abilities;
- Punctual and reliable;
- Positive, proactive approach to work;
- Creative, flexible, & fast thinking;

- Comfortable working with people of all abilities; previous experience working with individuals

with disabilities is an asset;
- NLS & LSS Swim Instructor certifications are an asset.
