Digger Derrick Operators assist with a variety of installation, maintenance and repair projects involving street lights, traffic signals, pedestrian crossovers, signage, flashing beacons and other traffic electrical devices. Operators are an important part of our 3-5 persons crews and work year round Monday to Friday, 40+ hour weeks with opportunities for overtime. Expect periodic out of town and night shift assignments. To thrive in this role you must be a hard-working individual with exposure to the construction industry, can show up on time everyday and work in a physically demanding environment.
- **Responsibilities**
- Ensure safe and effective operations of equipment such as digger derricks, bucket trucks, skid steers, mini excavators, pulling trailers, rigging for lifts etc.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance and mechanical checks.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines at all times, ensuring your safety and the safety of your team members and the public
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This includes removing debris, organizing materials, and ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed such as pulling wire, pouring concrete bases, unloading materials etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

- Ability to adapt to changes in assignments and priorities in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability
- Experience operating in urban environments
- Ability to maintaining high levels of productivity and able to work long hours when necessary
- Ability and willingness to perform duties in inclement and adverse weather conditions
- Knowledge of DOT restrictions and regulations
- Knowledge of OH&S Acts and Legislation

**Qualifications**
- High School Diploma with a minimum 2 years related experience operating equipment
- Valid Alberta Class 3Q driver’s license and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
- Industry courses in equipment operating is considered an asset
- Fall Protection, Standard First Aid, Ground Disturbance, Aerial Work Platform are assets
