About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Reporting & Analytics, this role will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions and data automation to support the use of advanced analytics and visualization tools within the team and across Downstream. The projects undertaken should promote operational improvement, aid in strategic decision making and drive value for Downstream.

This position is located in Calgary, AB.

**Responsibilities**:- Use open-source packages such as C# and R/Python to develop predictive and machine learning models for types of various analysis and reporting- Develop and maintain a database of Value Chain Optimization inputs and outputs using structured/non-structured and graph databases- Translate requirements to Cenovus data science teams and actively participate in projects that could include deep learning of value chain networks- Develop data visualizations with a self-serve analytic component, including the ability to rapid prototype visualizations

Competencies:
- Experience or knowledge in relational databases and writing SQL code- Experience with cloud data management e.g. Microsoft Azure- Experience with programming languages such as C# and R/Python- Data wrangling, coding, data modelling, data visualization- Ability to communicate and present complex data concepts and findings simply and concisely- Continuous improvement mindset- Experience with physical data modelling- Experience and exposure to business data analysis for various domains, including the ability to rapid prototype visualizations and communicate them to leadership- Knowledge and some experience in Data Modeling, ELT/ETL Development, and Data Warehousing

Qualifications:
- Legally eligible to work in Canada- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an entry to intermediate level role working with PowerBI, Spotfire, Tableau or other similar software- Experience in modelling, data mining techniques, data warehousing and metadata management- Experience in business analysis and solution design thinking- Experience in implementing a digital solution such as dashboards, information management and other decision-making visual analytical tools.- Experience in creating front-end development standards- Broad knowledge of data management technologies with commitment to continuous learning to keep pace with emerging trends- Proven experience delivering in an iterative and agile fashion- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related technical field- Possession of or advancement towards a P.Eng, or MBA or other relevant designation is considered an asset
