**Corporate Accounting Manager - Simmons Edeco**

As a privately owned oilfield service company, Simmons Edeco has been a dynamic provider of oilfield services to major oil companies and large independent producers around the world, delivering global energy solutions for over half a century. Today, Simmons Edeco operates in Mexico. From our head office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, we oversee operations in onshore drilling and workover and completion services.

Some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

- Compile and analyze financial information and prepare financial statements including monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts for various divisions (includes group consolidations);
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures;
- Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting deadlines are met;
- Prepare financial management reports (quarterly and annual notes);
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close;
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities;
- Local tax returns and review international tax returns and files;
- Develop and maintain financial databases;
- Financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process;
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses;
- Completing payroll and related reporting (T4);
- Oversee the accounting staff abroad (Mexico);
- Lead the financial statement audit and tax audit;
- Oversee, review, and assist in the monthly payment cycle including preparation of cash schedules;
- Responsible for review of bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, GST, intercompany billbacks, monthly journal entries, including review of associated accounting schedules (i.e.: prepaids, depreciation, interest, etc.);
- Prepare tax filings including but not limited to the following forms: T4, T4A, T5, and T2;
- Develop and maintain internal controls to increase the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial data and processes;
- Keep impeccable records of all hard and soft copy information in support of each accounting function; and
- Other duties as assigned.
- Post-secondary degree, with a major in Accounting;
- Knowledge of IFRS, ASPE, tax compliance, and government reporting regulations;
- 5-10 years of full-cycle accounting;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (intermediate Excel skills);
- Experienced and knowledgeable with standard IT Systems, MS Dynamic Navision 2016;
- Knowledge of the oil and gas sector;
- Attention to details and accuracy, with a high ability to problem solve independently;
- Experience in managing reporting for multiple entities and consolidations;
- Strong intercompany organizational skills;
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment;
- Must be able to meet various deadlines associated with quarterly and year-end processes.
- Ability to think creatively to find unique solutions to complex problems;
- Experience with report writing and presenting;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Independent, accountable, and reliable;
- Fluency in Spanish would be considered an asset.

**Salary**: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
