Hexcel Construction has been one of the lower mainland's premier site servicing contractors since 1985. We are currently looking for passionate individuals who would like to establish careers in the construction industry.

The survey assistant position involves the performance of various survey activities while working either with an onsite crew or with our mobile survey team. The position also involves working outside in all weather conditions.

The daily duties of the position involve the following:

- Reading blueprints, understanding lines and grades
- Aiding with various survey equipment (GPS, Robotic Total Station)
- Assisting a site servicing crew with installing gravity sewers, building roads, etc.
- Responsible for grades and elevations onsite using survey equipment such as a builders level and transit (theodolite).
- Daily inspection of tools and equipment
- Daily involvement in safety conscious activities such as tailgate meetings
- Other various construction related activities
- A diploma or certificate in Geomatics (or equivalent mínimal work experience)
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be organized, goal-orientated and enjoy working in teams

The position is full time and offers competitive pay at rates starting at $33.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience. Also included are life insurance, disability insurance, health and dental benefits and group retirement savings benefits. There is opportunity for advancement.
