Your Opportunity:
The Crisis and Stabilization Team (CAST) is part of the Children, Youth and Families Addiction and Mental Health portfolio. The goal of this service is to stabilize children and families in crisis for a brief period in order to reduce the number of Emergency Department presentations and length of stay in hospital. The Social Worker II is a regulated health care professional who collaborates and participates in the provision of mental health services within the CAST service. The Social Worker II provides a range of generalist social work services to children, youth and families with the established standards, directives and polices for the work environment. These services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, risk assessment, counselling, case management & coordination, transition planning, and psycho-education activities. You will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team to provide linkages to community AMH services and collaborate with the physicians, caregivers and a broad range of community professionals and services. Additionally, you will provide psycho-social interventions as the care plan indicates and collaborate with partner services (e.g CFS, FSCD, EPS) to plan appropriate community follow up and support for CYF crisis team calls as required.

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in community mental health required. A minimum of three (3) years child and adolescent mental health experience within the last five (5) years. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with ability to function in a high acuity, fast paced, changing environment.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Training and experience in mental health risk assessments and intervention. Knowledge of treatment modalities/behavioral interventions for children. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of discipline specific skills and practices. Experience working with AHS and external community partners. Involvement in family teaching and knowledge of community programs related to Child & Adolescent Mental Health. Restricted activities of psychosocial intervention designation would be an asset.
