**JOB SUMMARY**:
Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material by performing the following duties:
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to**: Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists with identifying requesting departments needs and develops and refines specifications for supplies or equipment.
- Examines and analyzes departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information; contacts department or initiator to clarify or complete information; determines method to process requisition based on dollar amount, timeliness required, existing open contracts, and/or competitive bidding.
- Assures the quality of the information provided to suppliers, verifying that technical specifications and product descriptions are being provided when required.
- Identifies and selects vendor to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality, delivery date and places orders.
- Negotiates supplier pricing and PO terms and conditions or MRO items and other non-production or production items as assigned.
- Resolves purchasing problems between requesting departments and vendors.
- Monitoring suppliers concerning delivery services and accounts payable discrepancy issues.
- Interprets and communicates purchasing procedures to departments; assists departments in initiating requisitions and orders, and solves problems with orders.
- Recommend Continuous improvements to streamline departmental processes.
- Involved in special projects and training for other employees

**MRO Buyer**
- Required to attend recommended training based on company’s requirements and attend purchasing meetings.
- Finds and validate new suppliers that can meet our product specifications, service levels, and achieve cost savings targets.
- Verifies invoices from suppliers with bids and purchase orders.
- Ensures the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding Purchasing organization.
- Places purchases orders with suppliers and monitors for timely delivery and completeness of order.
- Revises purchases orders in QAD to reflect information received from suppliers.
- Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
- Searches inventory records of warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
- Consults catalog and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.
- Types or writes invitation of bid forms and mails forms to suppliers.
- Writes or types purchase order and sends copy to Sr. VP of Purchasing or responsible buyer for approval.
- Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries and inventories.
- Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries.
- Other duties may be assigned.

**SKILLS / ABILITIES / REQUIREMENTS**:
Ability to read and interpret documents, bids, contracts, catalogs, and invoices.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, as well as Purchase Orders.

Computer proficiency.

Ability to use a ten key by touch, facsimile, and copier.

Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Position requires mínimal overnight domestic & International travel.

Pay: $45,000.00 per year
