About the Role

Reporting to the QA Manager, the QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring that software delivered to the business adheres to a high standard of quality and meets the requirements set out by the business. The IT QA team ensures the system issues and requirements are documented and tested as needed and that all the business needs are investigated in an accurate and efficient manner. The QA Analyst must be able to work independently, be professional, cooperative and responsive and will provide assistance and guidance to the media business as required.

The following is a paraphrase of the primary functions, but does not outline all of the duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to this position:

- Assist, coordinate and document system testing; assist with system enhancement requirements gathering; facilitate prioritization of system requirements.
- Track and save results of all system testing and provide details to the business as required. Ensure proper change management processes are in place and followed.
- Ensure issue tracking is kept current and up-to-date with appropriate prioritization.
- Facilitate the delivery of various ad hoc reports the business may require and ensure all details are accurate.
- Be a representative of the business requirements with our vendors and ensure proper follow-up and communication of information.
- Coordinate and prioritize the entry of issues and change requests via appropriate ticket-management systems as well as any reporting requirements.
- Entry and maintenance of issues into Corus’ bug tracking Software (Jira)
- Ensure procedural documents are kept in central location and reviewed with business as required.
- Other administrative duties as required.

About You
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience as a QA analyst or similar capacity
- Experience with various testing methodologies, especially Behaviour-Driven Development practices
- Experience with Agile methodologies is an asset
- Excellent communication skills -both verbal and written; ability to communicate in a timely manner due to the fast paced environment while ensuring communication is clear, concise, detailed and addresses all points of concern
- Strong understanding of and experience working in the media business is an asset
- S4M knowledge or experience with other broadcast management systems is an asset
- Superior knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word an asset
- Advanced knowledge of Jira/Confluence Software
- Strong facilitation skills to resolve issues internally and with vendors
- Ability to document and facilitate process and workflow requirement - Visio or similar tools are an asset
- Shift work and overtime may be required during critical periods in order to meet production deadlines.
