**Job Overview**
Sweet Impressions Bakery is searching for a creative, hard-working, and passionate individual to join our team within the role of Lead Baker

The Lead Baker will oversee daily operations within the bakery, ensuring adherence to allergy safety standards, the quality of baked goods, and the efficient execution of bakery production. This role requires leadership in maintaining a 100% peanut and tree nut-free environment, while managing inventory, supporting staff, and ensuring customer orders are fulfilled with precision.

**Responsibilities**

**Allergy Safety & Awareness**:

- Adhere to our Allergy Awareness Policy to maintain a 100% peanut and tree nut-free environment.
- Take necessary precautions to prevent cross-contamination with allergens present in the bakery.

**Health, Safety & Cleanliness**:

- Follow proper dishwashing, food handling, and health and safety procedures, including the First In/First Out (FIFO) method.
- Maintain a clean shared work environment by following the “clean as you go” principle.

**Baking & Production**:

- Follow recipes to prepare cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and treats that meet Sweet Impressions' quality and allergy safety standards.
- Package and label baked goods with accurate allergen information and ensure exceptional presentation.

**Order Management**:

- Check the internal order dashboard daily to ensure all orders are accurately completed and delivered on time.
- Prepare and organize all orders for pickup and delivery according to dashboard summaries.

**Team Leadership & Communication**:

- Oversee and support bakers and dishwashers, ensuring tasks are efficiently assigned and completed.
- Train new employees and implement a progressive training program to develop team skills.
- Communicate and assign tasks within the department for maximum efficiency.
- Facilitate cross-departmental communication to ensure production efficiency and workflow.
- Ensure the department is up to date on all policy changes and holiday menus.

**Inventory & Supplies**:

- Monitor inventory levels of bakery products, ingredients, supplies, and packaging.
- Receive orders and confirm ingredients are sourced from approved facilities with allergen reports in place.

**Creativity & Innovation**:

- Contribute to creative planning and design implementation as assigned by the owners.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Lead Baker or similar role in a bakery setting.
- Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, food safety standards, and allergen handling.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and training teams.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management.

**Certifications**:

- Food Handler Certificate (asset)
- Culinary or Baking Certificate (asset)
