**WHO WE ARE**

Champ's Fresh Farms Inc. is Western Canada's largest mushroom distributor located in the Fraser Valley of southwestern British Columbia. Our growing business is seeking an experienced General Operative to work in our Compost department.

General operative role is responsible for the safe operation of various pieces of equipment used in a variety of settings. Typical job duties involve general labourer duties, cleaning and maintaining the equipment and safe operation around people and cars in tight situations whilst still being productive.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
*
- **Working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions and climates.**
- **Perform general laborer duties within the workspace.**
- **Operate and maintain machinery and equipment.**
- **Operate Mobile equipment such as: forklift / Skid Steer / Front-End loader. Inhouse Training provided.**
- **Cleaning / Washing of floors, machines, hoppers, bunkers etc.**
- **Unloading the straw trucks using mobile equipment.**
- **Capable of identifying obvious malfunctions of the equipment /machinery being used.**
- **Lifting bags or able to lift 20 kg (50 lbs.)**
- **General labor tasks.**
- **Adheres to Safety Policies, uses proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment**
- **As reasonably requested in aid of operations or culture compliance, performs other duties as assigned.**
- **To be considered for this position you must meet the following requirements**

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the food industry would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of the composting process preferred
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.

**Physical Requirements/Special Requirements**:

- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, feeling, and hearing.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift 20-40 lbs. to shoulder height 2-4 times/shift and able to work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Demonstrates punctuality, good communication skills, a positive attitude and commitment to the environment.
