We are currently looking for a Day Camp Counsellors to join our team of committed professionals. These full-time summer contract positions within the Association are housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Chippewa and Tillicum Camp locations in North Bay.

**START DATE**: June 9, 2024
**LOCATION**: North Bay, ON
**RATE OF PAY**: $16.55 - $18.00 per hour
**HOURS**: 40 per week

Major Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver daily programs: group games, crafts, swimming, outside time, etc.
- Supervise, engage and participate with the program participants in group activities
- Communicate with all staff
- Ensure safety of all participants, property, staff and volunteers by established practices and procedures
- Maintain the inventory of required supplies and request more when needed
- Welcome all children to programs
- Represent the YMCA in a professional manner at all times
- Communication with parents on a daily basis
- Tracking daily attendance
- Post weekly programming schedule
- Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization

**Qualifications**:

- Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) preferred
- Experience working/leading group activities with children ages 3 to 12 years of age (i.e. babysitting)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
- Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
