**POSITION DETAILS**
- Provide care for the physical and emotional needs of the children
- Develop and encourage positive and secure relationships with the children and families
- Assist with program planning and implementation of the school program to promote stimulation in children’s development
- Actively engage children in your classroom in interest-based activities, observing and monitoring their interests to further develop skills
- Following health & safety responsibilities as required and ensuring the health & safety of all children
- Communicate with parents (on Brightwheel, ClassDojo or in person) on their child’s progress, any required inputs (food, diapering/toilet, supplies, sleep, photos & videos of activities, check in/out) daily and work with parents on any others matters of attention
- Filling in all required documentation with support from the ECE or lead teacher (or independently if leading)
- Reads, understands, and abides by all The Laurel School and Ministry of Education policies

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Certified in Standard First Aid & CPR/AED (Level C)
- Have a clear police reference check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Immunizations and health assessment in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (or valid exemption)
- Minimum 2 years experience in a child care or education classroom
- _Familiar teaching and planning academics and/or program planning is an asset but not required_
