One of a network of provincial community health centres, NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.

NWCHC is seeking a compassionate, committed individual who will work in the Path 525 Consumption Treatment Services (CTS) site. The CTS Harm Reduction Support Worker will be responsible for the daily work of the CTS site, and will respond to overdoses, distribute harm reduction supplies, provide harm reduction education, and make referrals to additional services. The position will engage collaboratively with NWCHC’s interdisciplinary team members and service providers, as well as with service users.

The CTS Harm Reduction Support Worker will coordinate group programming, activities and facilitate connections with other relevant organizations to increase access to supports and services for clients accessing the CTS site.

The CTS Harm Reduction Support Worker will work closely with the Rapid Access Addictions Medicine program, Safer Supply Harm Reduction staff, Superior Points and other community programs.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary education in social services, justice, or related field an asset but not required.
- Proven experience with overdose prevention and response, and training

in/experience with Naloxone administration.
- Physical ability to provide support in an overdose situation.
- Experience and knowledge of drug use, specifically injection drug use.
- Experience utilizing harm reduction principles and strategies.
- Experience working with peers an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to de-escalate conflict.
- Knowledge of community services and resources; strong advocacy skills.
- Experience working within an interdisciplinary team.
- Lived experience as (or working with people who reflect) our priority client
- Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health. challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers, non-insured)
- Respects and values the diversity of communities and individuals.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
