**Midwest Co-op is currently accepting resumes for the position of CROP SCOUT at our Walkerton branch. Under the direction of the Agronomy/Branch Manager, the Crop Scout is responsible for performing regular inspections of customer fields to monitor crop health and ongoing conditions. It may be used as a training position to allow incumbents the opportunity to learn about the operation. This position provides inspection reports and customer service in a timely and accurate manner to increase customer satisfaction and maintain the reputation and profitability of the organization. Unusual problems are referred to the Area or Agronomy Manager.**

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Drives company vehicle to designation customer crop field locations
- Inspects fields using Integration Pest Management (IPM) techniques and GPS technology to identify weeds, insects, diseases, and other yield limiting threats in both horticulture and field crops.
- Documents and/or photographs all findings, completes inspection reports, and provides reports to Agronomy Specialist and customers.
- Discusses results with both the Crop Specialist and customer to answer additional questions and add value to the service.
- Attends scheduled technical training sessions and meetings.
- Assists with additional agricultural retail operational duties as time allows.
