**Inclusion Alberta**, as a family advocacy organization, is committed to providing individuals with
developmental disabilities and their families with personalized advocacy that contributes to a
meaningful and inclusive life.

This full-time position will assist people with developmental disabilities and their families across
the province in planning to create greater financial security through establishing a Registered
Disability Savings Plan (RDSP). The RDSP is a powerful financial tool that remains an often
unknown and frequently overwhelming product for individuals and families to establish. Reasons
for this are many, but the primary barriers based on both research and jurisdictional experience
are at least three-fold: awareness and understanding, establishing and maintaining the Disability
Tax Credit (DTC), and the process of opening and managing a RDSP.

The role of the coordinator is to increase knowledge of the value of the RDSP and provide the
necessary support to individuals with developmental disabilities and families to navigate the
processes involved with both the DTC and RDSP. Targeted promotion and outreach are required
to increase awareness of the RDSP and referrals to providers available to assist individuals and
families. The coordinator will engage in promotion and outreach, direct services, and workshops.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Promote the uptake of the RDSP provincially through the provision of direct support to
- and obtain the DTC, including appeals when necessary, and supporting people to
- understand and open their RDSP.
- Gather, adapt and develop RDSP resources.
- Curate information and resources for Inclusion Alberta’s website relative to the RDSP.
- Design and deliver workshops both virtually and in-person when circumstances allow,

about the value and benefits of the RDSP.
- Develop and implement a strategy to provide information and resources to health

professionals, including but not limited to physicians, nurse practitioners, and occupational

and other rehabilitation therapists.
- Provide support and consultation to Inclusion Alberta staff to increase capacity to facilitate

access to the RDSP across the Association.
- Establish partnerships with community stakeholders including local family advocacy

associations, member associations, other community organizations and health

professionals to assist Albertans with disabilities to establish an RDSP.
- Build an understanding of Inclusion Alberta’s initiatives to share information and

knowledge and provide referrals appropriately.
- Completing monthly reporting.

As assigned by the Executive Assistant/Project Coordinator.

**Qualifications**:

- Deep understanding of full community inclusion of individuals with developmental

disabilities
- Knowledge and experience with the RDSP and DTC
- Ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships with community
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work as an individual contributor and as part of the team
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills
- Exceptional time-management and planning skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills
- Competent digital literacy skills

**Working Conditions**:
- on a regular basis. This position will consist of both remote/online and in-person work.
