Hydrovac Truck Operator

The Hydrovac Truck Operator works throughout our Canadian network of locomotives to wash the fleet, they are responsible for the maintenance of the hydrovac truck and related equipment, performing safety checks and site evaluations as required. Working in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment, the Hydrovac Truck Operator must work well in teams to maximize efficiency and safety, while demonstrating a strong initiative and safety focus.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Efficiently and safely operate truck and control movements
- Drive and operate hydrovac units without direct supervision
- Operate hydrovac truck and perform was and excavation activities as per work requirements
- Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with the company's safety policies and regulations
- Perform and document pre
- and post-trip inspections of equipment
- Properly use and maintain equipment, including conducting routine maintenance and repairs
- Coordinate with site to ensure efficient operations and safe work environment.
- Complete required paperwork and document project activities
- Maintain equipment in excellent condition

**Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities***
- Experience in industrial or construction settings
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
- Able to perform manual labor when required
- Enthusiasm for being part of a safety-focused collaborative team.
- Technology adept.

**Education & Experience**
- Valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating hydrovac equipment
- Electronic Logbook Adherence
- Preferred experience driving a manual transmission (10-18 speed) without automatic restrictions.
- Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours.
- Travel interprovincially is required
