Principal of École Pine Grove Middle School

Effective August 21, 2023

École Pine Grove Middle School is located in Edson, Alberta which resides in the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division. A dual-track (English and French Immersion) middle school of approximately 375 students, grades 6-8.

Role and Responsibilities

Providing instructional leadership to promote high quality teaching and learning.

Implementing the Teacher Growth, Supervision and Evaluation Policy.

Providing each student with the opportunity to fulfill their potential and pursue their dreams.

Facilitating inclusive educational practices to maximize educational opportunities for all students.

Adhering to provincial legislation, board policy and division administrative procedures.

Managing school operations and finances.

Developing a shared responsibility between student, parents, schools and communities.

Modelling commitment to professional development.

**Requirements**:
Master’s degree in Education is considered an asset.

Bachelors of Education is required.

Possess an Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for one.

Have experience in implementing the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and infusing literacy across the curriculum.

Must possess the Alberta Leadership Quality Standard Certification (LQS).

Have experience in middle school administration is preferred.

Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The Division

Grande Yellowhead School Division (GYPSD) stretches from Jasper National Park, east to Evansburg, south of Cadomin, and northwest to Grande Cache. The jurisdiction includes 17 schools, 5 Learning Connection Centres, approximately 5000 students and 600 staff. The Division is governed by seven elected Trustees.
