**The role**

The role will take ownership for the bookkeeping function of the business and will act as a support system the business owner can tap into.

**What you’ll do**
- Take ownership of the bookkeeping function
- Processing account payable and receivables internally and for external clients
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct ledgers
- Paying suppliers and debts on time
- Bank and credit card reconciliation
- Generating financial reports
- Performing month-end closings internally and for external clients
- Data entry and record-keeping
- Collect and collate information from clients
- Preparing accounts and tax returns internally and for external clients
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, and other government documents
- Filing of GST, PST, and Worksafe BC returns
- Prepare year-end files for external accountants for several companies
- Communicating financial issues to business owners and accountants as required
- Following standard accounting procedures and policies
- Manage relationships with stakeholders across the business
- Possess a strong understanding on business operations and service offerings
- Additional duties as required

**Who you are**
- Experience providing full-cycle bookkeeping
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks (experience with Sage is a plus)
- Ability to effectively use the MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, etc)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
- Open to training and willing to learn new programs/systems
- Authorized to work in Canada

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
- QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
- Sage: 1 year (preferred)
