1. **Job Title**: Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Coordinator
**Reports to**: Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Manager, NGF Canada
**Department**: Quality / HSE, NGF Canada, FP Division
2. **Job Purpose**
To support, coordinate and facilitate the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality functions at NGF Canada. The individual is accountable for ensuring all legal requirements of the functions are met; relevant policies are implemented and enforced; and a continuous improvement approach is taken to improve the performance of the business is in the aforementioned areas. To support the Quality Manager in identifying and researching quality concerns from a supplier, customer, and internal perspective and to communicate the appropriate corrective actions both internally and externally.
3. **Principle Accountabilities**
**Health & Safety**
- Assist with the implementation, communication and ongoing administration of the company’s health and safety program.
- Promote health and safety awareness among all employees.
- Provide advice and counsel to management and employees on occupational safety issues and decisions.
- Support the training of existing and new employees to ensure complete understanding of potential risks and expected behaviors within the workplace.
- Aid in investigating and reporting workplace injuries and incidents, including making recommendation to prevent reoccurrence.
- Coordinate return to work programs and create modified work plans as needed, working closely with the employee and their supervisor to ensure the employee's safe return to work.
- Maintain the health and safety aspects of the training database, ensure training requirements of employees are met within their respective due dates.
- Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee by working closely with management and workers to ensure actions from JHSC meetings are completed satisfactorily in a timely manner.
- Undertake appropriate action where unsafe conditions have been identified or where improvements have been recommended by the JHSC.
- Collect, analyse and report on health and safety related data.
- Conduct safety audits and make recommendations to improve safety and health standards.
- Complete risk assessments, accurately document findings, develop and implement improvement plans in line with the requirements of the JHSC.
- Develop safe work procedures and maintain appropriate records.
- Make improvements to the company’s health and safety processes, liaising with the QHSE Manager, global NGF sites, and those of the parent company to ensure best practices are understood and followed.
- Assist managers and supervisors to develop regular safety talks.
- Manage the company’s contractor control process, ensuring contractor documentation is valid and documented, and complete training of contractors as and when required.
- Maintain awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations and make recommendations for their implementation.
- Support the QHSE Manager with reporting requirements and liaising with WSIB and Government offices.
- Support the sites 5S program. Assisting with audits and implementing improvements as required.
**Quality and Environment**
- Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and effectiveness of the integrated Quality & Environmental Management System.
- Support the QHSE Manager to ensure compliance with external audit accreditation such as ISO; internal audits and customer audits. Managing the department’s workload to complete corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Support and communicate the company’s quality and environmental strategy.
- Support the Quality Manager to implement improvements to the company’s quality and environment processes. Ensure all activities are monitored and documented using the appropriate tools and methods.
- Support NGFC’s Quality Assurance department on a day-to-day level, providing the QA with support as and when required, in a timely manner.
- Monitor the quality of all products manufactured at NGF Canada, ensuring that the correct processes are being adhered to and that the in process and finished good meet the required specification. Direct and support corrective actions to resolve quality concerns.
- Assist concern resolution through regular communication with and direction from NGFC and NGFE management teams.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams for Corrective Action & Continuous Improvement (CACI) of processes and products.
- Ensure PDCA cycle is integrated into process improvement activities (CACI, Quick Kaizen).
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers and NGF personnel regarding risk management and complaint resolution/response of product and process issues.
