Computer/network Technician

ComputerWorks is looking for an experienced Computer/Network Technician to join our Team. Responsible for supporting and managing our clients’ computers and network systems and their Users. Remote and Onsite Support. Flexible Work Hours. Work-from-Home.
**Responsibilities**
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on various operating systems, including Windows and MacOS.
- Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory and LDAP.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues using network monitoring tools.
- Monitor CyberSecurity risks and exposures using monitoring tools.
- Implement automation scripts to streamline processes.
- Collaborate with the network engineering team to ensure optimal performance of network systems.
- Manage/update service tickets.
- Document/update client system documentation.
- Document all technical procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
- Provide excellent client service by assisting end-users with technical inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
**Skills**
- Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
- Experience with Active Directory for user management and security protocols.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools and techniques to ensure system reliability.
- Familiarity with VMWare and virtualization for managing virtual machines effectively.
- Understanding of LDAP for directory services management.
- Knowledge of network engineering principles to support connectivity issues.
- Ability to write scripts or use automation tools for system administration tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing technical issues.
**Qualifications**
- Must have several years of working experience and onsite field operations, which includes installations, upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and help desk support.
- Must have good command of the English language, both oral and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, and presenting yourself as a professional.
- Must be a loyal trusting TEAM player, dynamic and energetic, with a positive and passionate attitude towards technology, helping others, and TEAM success.
- Must have reliable personable transportation for onsite services.
Preference given to individuals with educational credentials, technology degree and/or technical certifications, and strong working experience with system tools used for monitoring, maintenance and management.
ComputerWorks is a Systems and Information Technology Group, established in 1980 with 44 years helping clients with their IT solutions, including Computer/Network systems, CyberSecurity Protection, Private Cloud Hosting, Onsite/Offsite Backups and Business Continuity, Microsoft 365, VoIP Communications/Messaging, Accounting Systems and other system solutions. We are a leading Sage Business Partner specializing in Sage 300 accounting systems, and also supporting Adagio, Sage 50, QuickBooks. We are a RingCentral Business Partner for VoIP communications/messaging.
Our office is in Port Coquitlam. Our primary service area is Greater Vancouver and Lower Mainland areas, although with the internet, and local support as needed, we can support and manage clients and their systems anywhere.
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
