Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.

**The opportunity**:
We are looking to hire five (5) part-time, Acquired Brian Injury Support Workers.

Availability: Monday to Friday and alternate weekends (7 AM - 3 PM, 3 PM - 11 PM)

Applicants must have open availability for the program, Sunday to Saturday: 7am to 3 pm, 3 pm to 11 pm and 2 weekends a month availability for the same shifts.

HCA or Addictions SW Certification preferred.

English verbal and written skills needed.

Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED, CPI or NVCI and Medication Administration required from approved providers.

Job experience of minimum one year working in the field of group home supports.

Successful applicants will: be engaging with individuals and able to mentor for job training skills, willing to teach daily living skills to build independence. Punctuality and demonstration of taking initiative, is an expectation of this position, as well as applicable skills and training to support individuals with brain injury, mental health and addictions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Reporting responsibilities (incident reports, behavioural data collection and verbal reports)
- Participate in any required training
- Follow policies and procedures as required
- Provide one to one support and group support within the home and community to adults with an Acquired Brain Injury with activities of daily living, personal care, and rehabilitation planning.
- Communicate with consumer, family, and team members.

**Qualifications and experience**:

- Post Secondary preferred in Human and Social Services
- Minimum of one years experience in Human Services field and/or working with people with ABI.
- Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Sound behavioural management skills, cognitive problem solving skills.
- Proven team work abilities
- Working knowledge of ABI and rehabilitation
- Ability to effectively deal with behavioural situations
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
