Are you passionate about growing and expanding Hinton’s Visitor Economy?

The Hinton and District Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Destination Marketing Administrator (DMA) for a 24-month contract with a potential to extend.

The preferred contractor will be responsible for the following:
**Destination Development Plan**
- Carry out and support action items from the Destination Development Plan, including support for the initiation of a Destination Management Organization (DMO);
- Work closely with local hoteliers and tourism operators on actions that are developed from the Destination Management Organization;
- Carry out the recommended 24-month marketing plan included in the Destination Development Plan;
- Create additional “Play and Stay” holidays to entice visitors to spend another day or two in Hinton and area; and
- Develop and carry out social media marketing.

**Destination Management Organization (DMO)**
- Enhance and seek opportunities for Product Development;
- Work with local Hoteliers/Tours Operators with the goal to create/support a Destination Management Fund (DMF); and
- Work towards making Hinton Conference ready with specific targets and measurables in

attracting conferences and events.

**Tourism Centre**
- Assist in the preparation of the Hinton Visitor Guide, including selling ad space, providing customer service to advertisers and targeted Visitor Information Centres, and manage the design contract;
- Assist visitors in the off-season months with travel requests and collect needed data;
- Create and implement training modules for Visitor Center staff; and
- Create and implement an ambassador program for Hinton and area.

**Tourism Administration**
- Enhance the existing level of services supporting tourism and the visitor economy;
- Grant writing, financial planning and marketing budget updates;
- Provide administrative support to Explore Alberta Northern Rockies (EANR) tourism group;
- Develop ideas to support the growth of the visitor economy;
- Prepare presentations to Council and Chamber Board of Directors with updates and return on investment on projects;
- Update Explore Hinton (Word Press) website with information relative to the project; and
- Provide monthly updates to the Chamber Board of Directors.

**Details**

Contractor will be responsible to:

- Work independently with guidance from the Hinton and District Chamber of Commerce
- Provide all computers and equipment needed to carry out tasks
- Schedule hours in the Visitor Information Centre during off season: hybrid working conditions
- Manage all traveling costs and insurance needed

This is a 24-month contract with an expectation of 30 hours per week. Office space is available in the Visitor Information Center to work or host meetings.

Contractor fee $50,000

Marketing budget $20,000

**Salary**: $50,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Work Location: One location
