Environmental Scientist

Banner Environmental Engineering Consultants Ltd. is currently recruiting for an **Environmental Scientist** to join our growing team. This will be a full time permanent position.Multiple responsibility levels are available (Entry Level, Intermediate).

The successful applicant will work directly with the Banner design team of Engineers, Scientists and Technologists to support the water management of a large construction Project. The position is based in Abbotsford, BC and will require shift work on a rotational schedule, with travel and accommodations provided.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaboration with Project Engineers and Project Managers to assist in data collection, sample collection, sample analysis, etc. for a myriad of Engineering Projects which focus primarily on Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Systems as well as Air Quality.
- Detailed data recording, electronic data input, data analysis and report preparation
- Constructing, maintaining, and operating standard laboratory equipment
- Providing chain of custody field sampling and technical support
- Undertaking environmental assessments, field site surveys, water quality analysis, and site inspections for Projects.
- Technical Report Preparation
- Develop a strong knowledge of Banners standards, policies, procedures and workplace culture.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Technical Diploma or Degree in relevant field
- Previous work experience in a Laboratory setting and/or Construction considered an asset
- Ability to operate Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ArcGIS considered an asset
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, solutions based, Consulting Engineering environment with a focus on personal growth and willing to accept new and challenging assignments.
- Deliverable-based mind set considered an asset.
- Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
- Willingness to travel; valid Class 5 Driver’s License, acceptable driving record.
- A positive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

**Salary**: $22.00-$38.00 per hour
