**Bakery Manager**

The Bakery Manager is responsible for the efficient and fiscally responsible operation of the department. The Manager will lead and manage staff to achieve the highest level of customer service, while adhering to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, policies and Health and Safety, and other programs and initiatives. The Manager will also manage budgets, labour costs, inventory control, product presentation and merchandising. The Bakery Manager will ensure superior customer service experience by coaching and developing a friendly, well-trained staff. Actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- Responsible for superior service goals of the department
- Supervise department staff to include scheduling, training and assigning duties
- Implement all merchandising programs
- Ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met; including cleanliness and sanitation, inventory control, rotation, quality, ordering, variety standards, signing, seasonal schematic, and proper backroom procedures
- Responsible for ordering and inventory control
- Ensure the department has the highest quality of product available for the customer
- Monitor to ensure variety standards are followed, as well as 100% compliance on ad item display
- Ensure paperwork, as set by division, is followed
- Perform all other related duties as assigned by management
- Responsible for the sales and profitability of the department

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**
- Post Secondary Education preferred
- Highly motivated and team oriented
- Minimum of two years as Baker or Bakery manager

**Skills & Abilities**
- Good customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to provide leadership including hiring and training
- Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast paced environment
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job

**Other Job Requirements**
- Lifting and moving weights of 5 - 20 kilograms (e.g., large cuts of meat, unpacking cases of pre-packaged goods)
- Standing for long periods of time while on the sales floor or assisting in food preparation
