**Respnsibilities**:

- Promote safety awareness by ensuring compliance of corporate health and safety policies
- Ensure all food preparation and portioning are completed prior to cooking
- Ability to use a variety of cooking methods to prepare top quality food including deep-frying, pan-frying, broiling, baking, boiling, grilling, sautéing, steaming, etc.
- Operate all kinds of commercial and non-commercial kitchen equipment
- Wash, slice, peel and cut meat, fruits and vegetables
- Prepare sauces from scratch or using pre-mixed products
- Season and marinate meats and other food items
- Assist in menu planning
- Assist in inventory counts
- Assist grocery orders
- Assist in unloading, loading and placing groceries and supplies
- Clean and sanitize designated kitchen areas
- Ensure health and safety regulations and quality standards are met

**Qualifications**:

- Red Seal Certification is considered an asset
- Advanced Food Safe Certification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a cook in remote camps
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Standard First Aid certification is considered an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work in the Ft McMurray area and work a rotational schedule
- Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
- Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
