Plains currently has a position open for an Electrical, Instrument, & Controls Maintenance Planner based in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta supporting the facility. A strong background in facility maintenance is required to be considered. Reporting to the Team Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective planning of short-term and long-term maintenance activities in the NGL West District. Work plans will be developed using inputs from multiple groups including Electrical, Instrument, Engineering, and Operations.

Key Accountabilities:

- Adopt and align to company procedures, best practices, and work flows;
- Display functional competencies regarding safety leadership, equipment safety, and maintenance execution;
- Provide experienced-based input to enhance existing elements of Planning and Scheduling program;
- Being an active steward of the environment and H&S by supporting the PMC Operations Management System.
- Participate in review to qualify and prioritize emerging work with key stakeholders;
- Identify Scopes of Work (simple, complicated, complex) and create detailed work plans that address all planning elements. Including task analysis, internal/external resource requirements, accurate duration estimates, material/component requirements, job hazard identification and mitigations, technical documentation requirements, and work pack aggregate costs;
- Collaborate with Scheduler, Discipline Leads, Engineering, Field buyer and other stakeholders to prepare planned work for scheduling. Assist with emergency work as required;
- Actively manage Planner backlog to achieve timely completion of work packs to within target start dates;
- Assemble complete job packages for approval;
- Generate and manage purchase requisitions;
- Assist with PM creation & optimization, master job plan development, and participate in the continuous improvement process;
- Follow and adhere to PMC regulatory, safety, environmental, security, and health procedures/policies;
- Support master data standards;
- Participate in departmental goal development/realignments and achievement strategies;
- Support mechanical planner and scheduler roles as required and assume responsibilities;
- Follow proper procurement practices;
- Champion key departmental KPI’s;
- Cultivate and foster productive and professional relationships with vendors and stakeholders alike.

Required Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or GED required;
- Instrument or Electrical RSE preferred, other relevant certification or Technical Diploma will be considered;
- 10+ years of hands-on experience performing preventative maintenance, calibrations, and PDM in a facility setting;
- 5+ years in a planning role;
- Strong mechanical, I/E aptitude;
- Knowledge of Maximo or relevant CMMS with a background in RCM would be an asset;
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite of tools;
- Goal orientated/self-starter with excellent time-management skills;
- Able to positively influence others and lead by example;
- Strong interpersonal skills capable of productive interaction under any circumstance;
- Shutdown/Turn Around experience an asset;
- Primary residency within 120 KM of the Fort Saskatchewan facility is required.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
- Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
