**Legal Counsel**

Penn-co Construction, a leading construction company is actively seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to enhance our team at the Steinbach office. As the Legal Counselyou will be integral in reviewing and managing contracts, assessing legal risks, and overseeing insurance. Your role will include working on construction contracts, coordinating dispute resolutions, and liaising with project managers and external legal counsel. **Responsibilities**:

- Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range corporate legal matters.
- Lead, structure, draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Provide timely legal advice regarding all legal issues facing the company so as to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local laws and all contractual relationships.
- Conduct legal research to monitor legal developments and changes to legislation.
- Develop and implement effective legal strategies; offer creative solutions to mitigate risk.
- Manage and coordinate insurance policy renewals and project-specific insurance.
- Handle dispute resolutions and collaborate with external legal counsel.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor degree and be in good standing with the Law Society of Manitoba.
- Minimum of three years of legal experience, either practicing as a lawyer in a law firm or serving in a legal role within a corporate setting.
- Experience in conflict resolution and legal negotiations.
- Strong negotiation, research, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
