**Position**

**Job Duties**
- Acquire an in-depth understanding of the scientific principles and implementation of Nanometrics AI Analyst systems. Be able to deploy, parameterize, tune and optimize the performance with standard statistical KPIs and resulting plots.
- Build, tune and optimize 3D velocity models for Passive Seismic Monitoring (PSM) and micro seismic processing purposes using client supplied inputs with standard Nanometrics methodologies and displays to demonstrate optimal characteristics.
- Processing of seismic events using internal Analyst toolkits, to assist in high workload periods and to gain a working insight into the tools, workflows and challenges inherent in complex seismicity monitoring projects and datasets.
- Support and lead Operations department research projects including internal tool development and expansion to meet Analyst team needs to aid in processing efficiency, quality and scalability.
- Lead implementation and integration of new geophysical data processing techniques into client project workflows.
- Provide continuous feedback on Nanometrics data analysis tools and processes to drive bug fixes, design changes and usability improvements.
- Generate technical reports and presentations for clients. Manage reprocessing projects using the full suite of Nanometrics deliverables from end to end.
- Present processing results and lead technical discussions with clients.
- Conducts all business activities in accordance with Nanometrics HSE policies and company legal compliance requirements.

- Requirements
- Minimum BSc in Geophysics, Seismology, Physics or Engineering.
- Minimum 2 + years’ experience as a professional geoscientist in the oil & gas or related industry.
- Proficiency in scientific programming languages including Python and MATLAB as well as Shell scripting.
- Proficiency in math and signal processing.
- Understanding of and experience with the principles and techniques for earthquake analysis.

**Assets**
- Prior experience with real-time local or regional seismic network data acquisition, management and analysis.
- Practical experience of Seismology department sales, network deployments and best practices that can be leveraged to incorporate Seismic Monitoring Services turnkey solutions as a deliverable to traditional Seismology clients.
- Prior experience with Nanometrics equipment/hardware with practical knowledge of optimal system design deployment to assist the Sales team.
- Prior experience with DI Transform analytical tool.
- Prior experience programming in C/C++, Java, Fortran and Ruby on Rails.
- Prior experience with management and processing of surface micro seismic data sets.
- Prior experience with seismic data processing techniques including but not limited to: double difference relocation, velocity model building, STA/LTA triggering, template matching, beamforming, noise-reduction filtering, event magnitude computation, focal mechanism/moment tensor inversion and stress field inversion.
