Vocational Instructor

The Vocational Instructor working in the capacity as a leader in the Individual Work Placement Program at Ontario Shores provides a full range of supported employment services through vocational assessment, employment counselling, skills training (specifically, retail training), work readiness support, job development and job coaching services within a recovery-oriented team environment.
- Qualifications Required and Preferred- Post-Secondary Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or related field required.
- Registration with the College of Vocational Professionals (CVRP), Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada (VRA) or another professional college is preferred.
- Min 2 years experience specifically working with persons afflicted with mental health/addictions issues or barriers to employment (preferably in a hospital setting).
- Strong knowledge and commitment to the principles of Recovery, Individual Support and Placement model and evidence based practices of Supported Employment.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Disability Support Program.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong knowledge of assessment, employment planning, current labour market trends, job development and job coaching.
- Current CPR - HCP and valid driver’s license is required.
- Meditech experience an asset
