**EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY**

**Auxiliary Bylaw Enforcement Officer
- 6 Month Contract**
TFN has an exciting and immediate opportunity for a six-month contract as an **Auxiliary Bylaw Enforcement Officer**. The position maintains effective working relationships among staff within the TFN Lands division and related external technical consultants or contractors.

**Specific Responsibilities**
- Ensuring compliance with TFN Acts and Regulations
- Receiving and investigating complaints
- Taking action to achieve compliance of violators including verbal and/or written notice, or laying charges by summons, ticketing or injunction
- Patrols TFN lands and ensures corrective action is taken for any regulation violations
- Participating in drafting amendments to TFN Community Regulations, and preparing and maintaining reports and records as required
- Work closely with Delta Police Department, RCMP and other regulatory bodies as required
- This is a shift related work schedule with daytime, weekend and evening coverage/availability required

**Requirements**:

- Completion of Grade 12 or GED
- Completion of Bylaw Enforcement and Investigative Skills Certificate Program, Level 1, through the JIBC or equivalent police training program
- Formal training in conflict resolution techniques is required
- The work can be detailed and complex and the incumbent must exercise considerable independent judgment in dealing with complaints
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a regulatory environment
- Experience with paralegal/court and investigative procedures, as well as interpretation and/or enforcement of laws, Acts, or Regulations
- Experience working in a First Nations environment will be an asset
- A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with an acceptable Driver’s Abstract
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a clean Criminal Record Check for offences related to the position

**Projected contract start and end dates**

Start: April 29, 2024
End: October 25, 2024

**Working Conditions**
40 hour work week on days, evenings and weekends as required. Work requires moderate physical exertion such as bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and climbing. Work may be indoors or outdoors, including working in inclement weather. May be exposed to noise generated by power tools and heaving equipment.

**Wages**:$38.38 per hour commensurate with qualifications. Contract positions are not eligible for benefits. 4% vacation pay will be added to each pay.
