We engage kids in an interactive and dynamic, fun learning environment. At Ultimate Coders we believe every child has untapped potential and we are here to uncover those talents. Ultimate Coders incorporate Scratch, Python, Robotics, Arduino, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Math — making connections that go beyond the classroom. We believe any child can learn to program, given the right environment and guidance. Our programs offer a fun, safe and rich environment for learning.

**What are we looking for?**

We are looking for a Programming Instructor to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our instructors are the means of support for our Ultimate Coders center. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement. Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem-solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Training - go through the curriculum and learn it
- Teach a class of up to six students
- Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
- Work with children to determine skill sets
- Be punctual
- Provide feedback to parents after working with a student who is there for assessment
- Follow opening/closing duties daily

**Required Skills**:
We are looking for skills in the following areas. The more you know the better. However, the willingness and capacity to learn are even more important than how much you already know. You should have great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Web development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
- Basic Robotics (Wonder Workshop Dash and Dot)
- Electronics (Raspberry Pi, Arduino)
- Python
- Scratch

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate or graduating with a diploma or degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 1-year of experience in teaching or tutoring children ages seven and up.
- Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up the basic concepts.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Internship / Co-op, Permanent

**Salary**: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Markham, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- teaching: 1 year (preferred)
