Job Summary:

Located at Lions Park of Port Coquitlam, our camps offer a unique outdoor experience for children aged 6 - 11 years old.

care programs such as after school care, spring break camps or summer camps and
thrive in outdoor settings, this opportunity is for you At Room to Roam, we
believe in the transformative power of outdoor education to inspire curiosity,
resilience, and a deep connection to nature.

As a summer camp educator, you'll lead engaging activities,
foster meaningful connections with campers, and create unforgettable memories
in the great outdoors. Whether you're passionate about nature exploration,
creative arts and crafts, or outdoor games and adventures, there's a place for
you on our team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrate good communication skills with our children, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Assist in providing a nature-based programming with an aim to providing an inclusive and developmentally age-appropriate program.
- Exhibits good judgment, critical thinking and creative problem solving
- Work collaboratively within the team to maintain proper supervision of children.
- Assist, contribute and at times lead daily programing.
- Engage with families to create a welcoming and positive relationship with families
- Be in good health and physically capable of handling such tasks as walking, bending, kneeling, lifting about 30 lbs., and run short distances.
- Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather.

**Experience**:

- Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting
- Familiarity with a child-led, play-based approach to childcare is an asset
- Experience working outdoors in an asset but not required

**Skills**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm when working with children
- Creativity in planning engaging activities for various age groups

**Qualifications**:
Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset
Criminal Record Check required
Please provide two references

**Temporary Position for July 2024**:
From 8:30 am to 4 pm from Monday through Friday starting July 2nd through August 2nd.

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
