Specific Responsibilities and Functions:
- Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them.- Promote a team oriented environment, coordinate with all departments while executing day to day tasks.- Operate and maintain and clean facilities according to AIB, HACCP and Gordon Food Service standards.- Effectively operate an efficient workflow by proactively removing any barriers that may challenge performance and time sensitive targets.- Communicating effectively with fellow team members while focused on the same goal.- Manage manpower efficiently based on daily scheduling, Add/remove personnel where required, re-allocate as needed.- Assists with the safe and cost effective operation of warehouse activities and processes.- Assists in the development and enhancement of operations procedures. Including unique customer requests/requirements.- Assist the entire Gordon Food Service team in any facet through leading by example and positively guiding people in the right direction for success.- Instructs and monitors personnel in use of equipment. Provide staff with the necessary tools for success.- Build relationships (professional & social) within all Gordon Food Service.- Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating appropriate follow up, including praise and recognition as well as, if necessary, disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Supervisors and Human Resources.- Adheres to the mission statement, cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.- Execute tasks in all warehouse environments at the Distribution Centre.- To fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed on the job function requirements, for the specific department.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to three (3) different temperature zones within the warehouse.- Grocery area in the warehouse is room temperature; varies from cold in the winter and warm in the summer.- Cooler area in the warehouse is approximately 1 or 2 degrees C.- Freezer area in the warehouse is approximately -15 degrees C. Some areas of the freezer can get as low as -23 degrees C.- Moderate noise level- CSA approved steel-toe safety boots must be worn on the warehouse floor.

Provide employees an opportunity to succeed and exceed our expectations in personal and customer satisfaction.- Be approachable, relatable, maintain an open mind when communicating with staff.- All PIV’s, Batteries(changer)- Scan Pro system, RF gun- WMS, Gmail, Google drive, Google Docs- Departmental Standard operating procedures- Compactors (Wrap, Cardboard, garbage)- Dock levelers- Employees are hired on a full-time basis. However, given the nature of the position, an employee’s hours of work will be irregular. Your hours of work may be scheduled on any day of the week (Monday through Sunday), with varying shifts.- During peak seasons, scheduled overtime is required, and may include up to 13 hour shifts.- There is a 30-minute paid lunch for an 8-hour shift and 40-minute paid lunch for a 10-hour shift.- GFS Delivers every day of the year, as we are a 24/7 operation. Employees must be flexible to work all Statutory Holidays, however, this does not necessarily mean that employees will be required to work all of them.
