**Location**: Peterborough, ON (Onsite)

**About the Role**:
**You will be working on things like**:

- Generating and pitching original story ideas
- Writing, producing, shooting, and editing content for CHEX News at 6 on Global Peterborough, CHEX News at 11 on Global Peterborough and Global News Morning Peterborough
- Live on-camera reporting, both on location and in studio
- Publishing video content to our website and social media channels
- Establishing and maintaining a network of news contacts throughout Peterborough and the surrounding region
- Other duties as assigned

**If you have the following, we want to hear from you**:

- Post-secondary education in Broadcast Journalism, or related field
- Previous work experience in broadcast and online journalism
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
- Strong on-air presentation and interest in on-camera TV reporting
- Camera operation experience and familiarity with non-linear editing
- Willingness to adapt to changing technology and workflows
- The ability to effectively solve problems and troubleshoot while dealing with the unexpected.
- Ability to handle the demands and pressure of tight deadlines and breaking news
- Proven ability as a team player with a positive attitude
- Great communication and organizational skills
- Experience or interest in weather and/or sports broadcasting would be considered an asset
- Valid class “G” driver’s license with clean driving abstract
