EXPERIENCED DIGITAL FORENSIC EXAMINER - CONSTABLE
**SALARY RANGE**: Approx. $115,341 - $124,569

This position is within the Windsor Police Service's Digital Forensics Team which is integrated into the Internet Child Exploitation unit. The Digital Forensic Team is responsible for the forensically sound preservation, identification, extraction, examination and documentation of evidence from digital devices.
Digital Forensics is a highly technical and rapidly evolving specialized area of policing. Success in this field requires a genuine interest and aptitude in computers and mobile devices and how they operate. The Windsor Police Service is recruiting an experienced Digital Forensic Examiner at the rank of Constable for this role. Extensive experience and training in Digital Forensic field as well as certification in the Digital Forensic field are required for this role.
Constables are required to meet and maintain the highest professional standards required of their role, by conducting themselves in a manner reflective of the Windsor Police Service's Mission, Vision and Core Values. They must have a strong work ethic and are committed to a community-based policing model that looks beyond immediate issues and searches for realistic longer-term answers to complex community and social issues and emerging risks and trends, specific to digital forensics.
Essential Qualifications
Currently a serving police officer in Canada and in good standing.
Minimum six (6) years experience as a Digital Forensic Examiner and is currently assigned to this role.
Must been qualified as an Expert Witness in the field of Digital Forensics.
**Must have completed one of the following courses**:
Computer Forensic Examiner's Course (CMPFOR) - Canadian Police College
Basic Computer Forensic Examiner's Course (BFCE) - International Association of Computer Investigative Specialist
Must be currently certified by IACIS as CFCE (Certified Forensic Computer Examiner) and ICMDE (IACIS Certified Mobile Device Examiner)
**Must have completed the following Digital Forensic training**:
Cellebrite Certified Operator course
Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst course
Certified Graykey Operator course
X-Ways Forensics course level I and II
Excellent teamwork skills, demonstrating awareness of individual differences, opinions and providing support and input as required.
Ability to engage partners as required to develop strategies and processes and solve problems.
Problem solving skills with the ability to identify cause and effect and develop a course of action designed to target root causes as well as manage impacts.
Able to identify, analyze and manage risk to inform balanced, proportionate, evidence-based decisions.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with the able to appropriately prioritize and plan own work.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Digital Forensic/Computer Science or related field;
Digital Forensics Examiner works a Monday to Friday day shift schedule, with after-hours support as required. This is a full time in-office position.
