The Village of Harrison Hot Springs is seeking a student youth labourer for a summer position with the Public Works Department.

Under the direct supervision of the Public Works Supervisor, the student youth labourer in this position shall be responsible for a variety of manual tasks and duties. These tasks and duties are typically physical in nature and may require the use of small tools and equipment.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

- Assists with the maintenance and cleaning of the Village grounds, buildings, public works facilities and related items
- Weeding and grass cutting/mowing
- Operating hand power tools as assigned including weed eaters, drills, saws, pressure washers, paint sprayers, small tools, hand mowers, etc.
- Assists in the planting and maintaining of annuals, perennials, bulbs, shrubs, and trees throughout the Village
- Good interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain a respectful working relationship with other team members
- Polite, tactful and courteous while dealing with the public
- Good health and sufficient strength, stamina and coordination to carry out associated duties outside in any weather condition
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Active BC Class 5 Driver’s License
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 30

Wage Rate:
$20.00 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits; shift premium applies for any hours worked between 6pm and 6am.

Work Terms and Hours of Work:
This is a unionized position with a minimum of an 8 week duration, and not to exceed 16 weeks. Shifts will be full-time hours (7.5 hours / day, 37.5 hours per week) and may include evenings and weekends.
