**JOB SUMMARY**:
Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation’s Human Resources Payroll Clerk will secure an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy. The Payroll Clerk can expect to maintain a database, prepare financial reports, provide backup to payroll processing, and generally ensure that the payroll system runs smoothly.
The HR Payroll Clerk will be professional and courteous with strong computer skills and a thorough understanding of payroll principles. The HR Clerk will be a skilled multi-tasker with excellent time management, computer, and communication skills and will be committed to behaving ethically in the workplace.
**POSITION DUTIES**:
- Maintaining the BambooHR System and ensuring that records are complete and current.
- Recording information, processing, and filing forms.
- Preparing cheques, deposits, and financial reports using Sage 300.
- Updating profiles (ensuring correct GL Accounts & Cost Centres are correct for new hires, role moves ect. - for each department), researching, and resolving discrepancies.
- Verify employee hours worked and entered properly into the BambooHR System and assist for missed employee clock in & outs as needed.
- Update salary information when employees receive a raise or bonus, control time records, employee records - hires and terminations.
- Ensure all banking information for each employee is correct.
- Assist in collection of timesheets and needed documentation for yearly financial audit.
- Electronically submit all information to the bank so deposits can be issued on time.
- Assist employees with instruction on BambooHR “clock in & clock out” requirements.
- Completion of ISETP Claim forms for funding transfers.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, or year-end calculations.
- Maintains payroll operations by following policy and procedures, and reporting needed changes.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Assist Payroll Coordinator in preparing government forms as necessary, including T4s and ROEs.
- Assist Payroll Coordinator in preparation of payroll remittances according to payment schedule.
- Report teachers’ absence history on Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan website.
- All other duties as assigned.
**TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

3. Clear Criminal Records Check (CPIC that is valid within 6 months.
4. Valid driver’s license and vehicle for on-the-job use.
5. Preference will be given to qualified members of Sagamok Anishnawbek.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The knowledge and ability requirements are representative of essential duties.
**Ability to**:
- An excellent payroll clerk has a great understanding of the concept of confidentiality. You will be experienced in entering data with attention to detail.
- The goal is to carry out all payroll procedures with speed and accuracy.
- Estimate accurately time and materials required in the conduct of a comprehensive custodial operation.
- Maintain a variety of files and records and prepare and present clear and concise reports.
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**:
- Combination of education, experience and/or training will be considered
- Valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s License
- Ojibway language would be considered an asset
