Swim Instructor

Reporting to the Aquatics Coordinator, Swim Instructors are an integral part of the Recreation and Culture Department. Swim Instructors are responsible for teaching swim lessons to participants of all ages and abilities. Currently, we are looking for availability on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

***Key Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Teach the Lifesaving Swim aquatic programs for participants to the Swim for Life Program standard.
- Attend each staff training (four per year).
- Take accurate attendance of participants.
- Communicate with participants and parents.
- Report any issues, concerns, or areas of development to the Recreation Coordinator.
- Completion of worksheets and report cards to be submitted on time.
- Responsible for overseeing volunteers and ensuring they are abiding by proper procedures.
- Perform other related duties assigned by Head Instructor Guard or Aquatics Coordinator.

**Experience & Qualifications**:

- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Current Swim Instructor certification. (Lifesaving Swim Instructor is an asset).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience working with children, preferably in a recreational setting.
- Previous experience planning and implementing program plans an asset.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certificate.
- National Lifeguarding Certification Preferred.
- Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

**Hourly Rate: $19.35**
