**Job Summary**:
The Commodity Planner is responsible for allocation and inventory management of a designated commodity across all sites. They are responsible for the flow of their commodity for both internal and externally procured items from either domestic or imported sources.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create product allocations based on customer specifications and inventory levels
- Ensure allocations are distributed, updated throughout the day and executed with Production
- Routinely checks product quality in inventory and maintains communication with Quality team on inbound product
- Monitor, verify and provide feedback to production and quality departments on accuracy of product grading and quality concerns
- Coordinate and assist in communicating customers’ expectations with production, shipping, and receiving
- Coordinate with sales and marketing department on ad planning and product movement
- Daily communicate with Buyer to determine purchasing product volumes required to bridge growing gaps, cover ad’s and fill volumes
- Stay current with picking forecasts, analyze inventory volumes, sizes, and quality to ensure commodity needs are being met
- Other core expectations as defined by the company

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education is required; Degree in purchasing, supply chain management or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years’ commodity planning or inventory allocation experience is required; experience in the produce/agriculture industry preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required; knowledge ERP software, Famous® preferred
- Capacity to build and maintain relationships that align with company objectives
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills are essential; results oriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize workflow
- Sound decision making skills and able to work in a high stress environment
- Understand the need for urgency while providing outstanding customer service

**Work Environment**:

- Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; flexibility required
- Conditions typically found in an office setting with occasional duties within a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation
- Role requires the ability to listen and speak to other employees
- Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Specific vision capabilities required; employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting for prolonged periods is required
- The position may involve needing to lift up to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds
