Laboratory Manager
- **Overall Responsibilities**_

The employee in this position has responsibility to overview, maintain and upkeep the laboratory global quality. This includes training, Quality policy compliance, SQC maintenance, Round Robin oversight and calibration.
S/he will keep the Laboratory Manager informed of all system status. Employee will also be a working component of the analytical team and as such will participate in testing when workload requires it.
- **Specific Responsibilities**_
- Ensuring technically correct test methods on a daily basis.
- Address all quality issues that arise from routine analysis and confer with
Laboratory Manager/Assistant Laboratory Manager on issues of less routine nature.
- Coordinate and schedule all maintenance, calibration and Round robin testing.
- Analyzing, compiling, and reviewing quality control sample results, to ensure
operating efficiency of test instrument.
- Reading and understanding all applicable analysis and safety standards that include
but are not limited to ASTM, UOP, and IP.
- Assist other areas of the laboratory with their duty.
- Maintaining laboratory instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Completing required safety training and necessary certifications.
- Preparing chemical solutions according to applicable standards or work instructions.
- Provide training to Laboratory Technicians and Chemist.
- Performing other laboratory related duties as assigned.
- Will provide backup to Laboratory Manager.
- **Requirements**_
- Member of L'Ordre Chimiste.
- Experience in a petroleum laboratory is an asset.
- **Competency**_
- Bilingual is an asset.
- Great organisation and scheduling capacity.
- Able to work on flexible schedule and under pressure
- Must be able to clearly distinguish colors.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills. (Verbal and Written).
- The individual must possess basic computer, mathematics, and science skills.
- Must demonstrate evidence of supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- S/he must communicate effectively with employees and management.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of industry related safety and training.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be able to work with all chemical, petrochemical, and petroleum products.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
