**Role Summary**

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the ongoing success of our landscaping team. This is a permanent full-time position.

**Responsibilities**
- Operate all equipment and/or vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with staff and management team.
- Assist/mentor less experienced staff on equipment operation.
- Understand and adhere to safe work practices, including but not limited to reporting all unsafe and/or potentially unsafe or hazardous conditions/equipment/people to supervisor.
- Assist with other landscape construction crews as needed.
- Ability to read and understand grade stakes, survey layout, and design drawings and scope of the job.
- Daily walk around/pre trip inspection of equipment and/or vehicles and follow maintenance and repair procedures/practices.
- Hiring, training and mentoring staff as needed.
- Communicate daily progress, job timelines.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete all scopes of construction.
- Skills with hand tools such as cordless drills, saws, chop-saws (gas-axe), etc., considered an asset.
- Snow removal experience considered an asset.
- Ability to price and provide estimates as required.
- Works well independently and with a team.
- Detailed oriented and excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Communicates effectively both written and verbal.

**Education and Experience**
- Must hold a valid class 5 or class 7 driver’s license as a minimum (class 3 w/heavy trailer endorsement or class 1 preferred).
- Must have a minimum of 10 years experience operating excavators (1.5 - 3.5-ton mini excavators at a minimum), finish grading, loading small dump trucks and trailers, spreading materials, identifying different types of soils considered an asset.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience operating skid-steer loaders, grading, moving material, using forks and/or other attachments, loading small dump trucks and trailers.
- Experience directing staff.

**Salary**: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
