**Role**
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Public and Rural Health, you will provide strong leadership in the design, development, and implementation of plans, policies, frameworks, and regulations to address a range of public health protection issues including health emergency and pandemic planning and preparedness, environmental public health policy, environmental public health science and infection prevention and control. Working successfully with stakeholders including the Chief Medical Officer of Health, government ministries and the health authority will be key in establishing these public health programs and achieving provincial health goals, targets and standards. You will also provide strategic leadership for the protection of vulnerable persons in care and for the Physician billing audit and compliance accountability programs. You will be responsible to develop strategic recommendations, options, and provide advice. Your excellent communication and influential skills will lend to strong networks and relationships with complex stakeholders and partners. You have experience leading strong teams accountable for program delivery and you demonstrate an understanding of government and department priorities.

**Qualifications**
Success in this role calls for a progressive leader with a background that includes significant related senior management leadership experience. You bring a strong understanding of public health and health systems, financial accountabilities as well as ensuring safety for vulnerable persons in care. You bring demonstrated experience leading complex programs as well as an ability to work effectively with stakeholders to manage diverse expectations and interests. A respected leader with experience leading staff, you are committed to building strong lines of communication and trust as well as empowering your teams to achieve results through performance excellence. A related degree is preferred.

**Salary**
$4,934.42 - $6,484.75 bi-weekly ($128,788 - $169,251 annually)
