**Community Helpers Unite Is looking for a new coffee room attendant**

Expected duties:

- Interact with and serve beverages, meals and snacks to relatives at N’Dinawemak following the Seven Sacred Teachings, with extra attention to empathy, kindness, respect and dignity. N’Dinawemak is THEIR HOME, we are there to serve them.

Front Line Duties:

- Follow the Coffee Room Routine and Duties list daily
- Serve meals and assist with service when volunteer crews arrive to serve
- Measure ingredients for coffee and tea according to clients requests
- Pre-measure the most common coffee ingredients into cups to save time
- Maintain a clean and orderly coffee room by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc
- Comply with Food Safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist Manager with putting away food and beverage supply order on arrival
- Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they remain organized and easily accessible
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Coffee Room Manager

Handle Food Donations
- Fill out Food Donation Log accurately when food donations arrive, re-direct donations to the kitchen when donations cannot be safely distributed without heating or cooling
- Ensure all food and other items are stored and labeled properly
- Put together non-perishable snack bags for relatives when appropriate donations come in

Requirements and skills:

- 6:30am start required
- High school diploma or equivalent desired but not required
- Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check, and Clear Child Abuse Registry
- High level of empathy, kindness and patience
- Confidence, self-motivated, punctual
- Have the ability to not take things personally (relatives are sometimes intoxicated, having a mental health crisis, or experiencing other issues that will cause them to lash out verbally. Sabe Peace Walkers are there to support our staff and volunteers during coffee and mealtimes which has reduced instances of physical violence

- Direct Report to: Coffee Room Manager
- Executive Management Report to: Operations Manager, Financial Controller, Executive Director

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: $14.42-$17.42 per hour
