What is the role?

Design is integral to how we engage our clients, generate insights, and bring stories to life. The Design Lead plays a key role within the studio, setting a standard of excellence for high quality and engaging visual communication. This role requires hands on development of creative work in collaboration with consulting project teams, and helping to coach less experienced designers to define, generate, and deliver excellent outcomes. Specific responsibilities of the role may include, but are not limited to:

- Provide guidance to less experienced designers, fostering a creative team environment.
- Help manage competing priorities and support quality control across the design team.
- Scope design elements on client projects, including proactively identifying opportunitiesto add value to clients’ needs.
- Brainstorm and develop creative deliverables (e.g. interactive documents, infographics).
- Work on discrete design tasks (e.g. creating icons for reports, improving presentationlayouts).
- Leverage your passion for editorial design to bring complex information to life inimmersive, innovative ways. You will be building compelling narratives in project reportsand presentations.
- Help bring our co-creative workshops to life. You will be required to generate a visualbrand that ties together the workshop presentations, environmental graphics, andactivity templates.
- Support the development of corporate branded material as we continue to refineCoactuate’s marketing and business development strategies.What is required for the role?
- 6+ years of applicable work experience in design, across a wide range of visual design mediums.
- Demonstrated excellence at building narratives and delivering high quality deliverables that have surprised and delighted clients.
- Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills, with an ability to prioritize relevant information and tailor to the level and experience of the audience.
- Strong design toolkit with demonstrated experience in creative thinking, graphic design, branding, editorial/layout design.
- Track record of thoroughness and attention to detail, including when reviewing deliverables or preparing for internal and client meetings.
- Demonstrated interpersonal awareness and ability to collaborate with others, manage competing interests, and ensure all viewpoints are considered.
- Experience managing multiple workstreams, adapting to changing workload priorities, and proactively communicating with relevant stakeholders on progress.
- Ability to work quickly on dynamic and changing projects.
- Experience mentoring and coaching junior designers.How can you set yourself apart?
- Experience in editorial design or other narrative driven forms of design
- Experience in diverse range of design deliverables, such as, animation, motion graphics,video editing, illustration, print, digital, web design, and UX design
- Experience in designing and facilitating design thinking workshops
- Experience scoping, pitching, and delivering design-related projects to clients
- Successful track record working with clients across multiple initiatives
- Note: Past experience in healthcare is beneficial, but is not a critical requirement for thisroleWhat is your mindset?
